After being super lucky and winning a Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep tag at Salt Lake City Hunt Expo, I looked for a local guide to help me learn about the rocky terrain and big horn sheep. I got lucky a second time, by finding Coby Hunt. Coby had been helping sheep hunters in the nine mile and rattlesnake units for the last 5-6 years. I believe he knows more about the sheep and there terrain than any other sheep guide. I live pretty close to the unit, so got lots of time last summer learning the unit and Coby's sheep expertise. Coby is a sheep fanatic, climbs the rocks and rims like they are not even there, he had me puckered up way more than once during the summer. We set out 7 cameras, and got over 2000 pictures of Rams and about 3000 pictures of ewes in a different areas. Coby knows where and what the sheep do all year, not just during the season. We got lots of pictures of my Ram during the summer. Hunting with Coby was a dream come true,, I have applied for sheep in Colo for 27 years with out success(maybe next year) . I sure wish Coby was a colo sheep guide , he'd be my first phone call when I get lucky again!!!!
